Media walls and fitted furniture
Built-in media walls with lit shelving, TV recesses and cabinets, made to fit the room rather than the other way round.

A media wall is a framed and boarded wall with the television, shelves and storage built into it. Done well it hides every cable and turns the wall into the best thing in the room.
The one in the photos is finished in black with oak-lined shelves, LED strips set into each shelf and handleless cabinets underneath. The lighting is planned before the boards go on, so the wiring is hidden and the light falls where it should.
The same approach works for alcove units, shelving and other fitted furniture.

Questions people ask
How long does a media wall take?
It depends on the size and finish. I will give you a clear timescale with the quote once I have seen the room.
Can you hide the TV cables?
Yes. Cable routes and power are planned before the boarding goes on, so nothing shows when it is finished.
Can the shelves be lit?
Yes. LED strips can be set into the shelves, as in the media wall shown here.
